natural gas? flammable. it goes, boom. it's important to shut this off. we use it for cooking, eating and hot water. there were 40,000 people that called pg and e about their gas. that means they call turned off their gas? did they need to do that? when do you have to? when there is a problem. how long did you think it takes pg and e to get out and turn it back on? 45,000 people. days weeks, may be a month. who has seen this in the streets. a lot of muck is in there is it's full of dirt and weeds you turn it to the right to tighten it and left to loosen it. your home work you have to look at your house, pop open the lid, look in there see what's going on in there it's not nice and clean like this. who has seen this around their house? everybody. each meter has a shut off. you want to find out where your gas meter is. you can keep track of your usage but you will know how to shut it off. here's the shut off. i have some tools up here, you can look at these. any hardware store has these. they fit on this and it allows you to turn off the gas. when we talk about the wheels it's these on top.

done with the matrix. we have put a powerpoint presentation together. this will give us the opportunity to go through a couple bills. how we were watching this and looking ahead as to next year, what will be coming down the turnpike. wanted to highlight a couple bills we were watching. ab819, which would require caltrans to establish procedures for non-standardized designs for bicycle projects. this was approved by the governor. another bill of interest would be ab1532, the speaker's bill, which would set procedures for use and distribution and cap and trade funds. i will go into this further. i think this would be of great interest to the board of supervisors with respect to the designation of the funds and the revenues that will be generated from the cap and trade program. next is ab2144, which is another bill sponsored by the speaker assembly member perez. this bill would expand the isd law and reduce the voter threshold for creation of an ifd and issuance of bonds for the ifd. unfortunately this was vetoed by the go for. there is discussion about it coming back next year

debated the use and the help that comes with having more information. i don't see anything wrong with the planning department saying you know what? we have specific objectives that we have to meet with respect to low-income housing, very low net income housing and moderate housing and market rate housing and what is wrong with looking at whether or not the approval of that project will thrill move us le actual actually move us closer? i think it would be a disservice phot to the public not to do that. with my were actual le in a way emulating what the private sector was doing because these hospitals had an institutional plan, where they actually had more information that the city had. i would imagine that when a private developer decides whether or not to build a specific project, to market antis to determine the need. so i think in some respects what we're doing is emulating what happens in the free-market. the free-market is driven by information. where someone invests their money is has a lot to do with what the need is. and so in temples of wes a city in making an investment

ensure all of us can live here. we are investing in infrastructures. this november, we will propose a park spot to make sure that our parks are again world-class and that they serve all of our neighborhoods in the city. we have enjoyed a very lucky vote past november where our paving and streets -- that will produce $240 million of anchor for our streets repaving but also for infrastructure in our streets that allow you need to move faster, less congested, our curb ramps for persons with disabilities, a number of street park with that will be had. bike lanes that will allow our bikers -- a lot of them want to be able to have dedicated green lanes. all of that has anchored into a very strong vote, one that was very difficult to pass because it required 2/3, and we were able to do that. very fortunate in our city to be able to have that. and, of course, improving our public transportation. muni continues to be a challenge because of its infrastructure and its debts, and we will continue paying attention to that, and that is why we have got to be always investing in our future, and tra

used as a storage area for fresh water, for recycled water, san francisco has to come up with 25 million gallons of recycled water and currently there's puc of 2.5 to 3 million gallons a day, so i don't know how it's going to be, that's the bigger picture but when you start narrowing it down with the northlake they use in fresh water and separating out different lakes, that's kicked around a little bit. they also don't have a set plan, a puc for the reverse osmosis of the water that's coming out of the ground water. my problem with that is every time i go to the water type place, i have an issue with why aren't we drinking portable water, why don't we get the reverse osmosis and that's more in the public safety health and getting better water. if you want to buy water, black mountain makes such water, reverse osmosis and it takes out all that bacteria which causes in humans the productivity of plaque, i'm at that age, you want to keep it down a little bit. if we have to drink water, wouldn't you want some reverse osmosis water rather than everything being dumped back on to the la

if the super bowl's played down the road in santa clara, for us, these are the san francisco 49ers. always have been, always will be. san francisco 49er fan also be so excited and come together as a region and city behind this. it will have enormous impacts, bringing the neighborhoods together from sunset to bay view. think about the thousands of jobs. hundreds of millions of economic activity for our city. more importantly the opportunity to display san francisco on the world stage. when we had america's cup a few weeks ago, and nbc broadcast the bay and events live on sunday, we couldn't ask for better pr event anywhere than what we achieved that sunday. now we get to do it on the world stage to host the biggest sporting event in the world. what an opportunity we have. this is an exciting time for our city. i don't think we can or won't rest on our laurels or take anything for granted. as mentioned, we have a lot of hard work ahead of us. i know the big committee and those of us in city hall will work tirelessly to make sure our region and city put our best foot forward and once

is happening a couple of blocks behind us. several blocks away, you can see the smoke and smell the smoke. the apparatus is closing several roads. we have some information as they are still actively the fire. it started in late rowhouse in the 1200 block of battery avenue. the fire started on the first floor and spread to the second floor and to some of the adjoining town homes. those town homes were evacuated. neighbors are out on the street. it is quite a scene. we spoke to the son of the homeowner. he said six people were inside. those people were able to get out. firefighters confirm that nobody was seriously concerned. a firefighter was injured. he fell from a ladder. his injuries are not life- threatening. we will go back to the scene. kim dacey, wbal-tv 11 news. >> the national weather service will make a formal declaration as to whether a tornado touched down in harford county. it hit this home on cox road. several trees on the property were destroyed. a child care center will be closed after a car crashed through the side of it. it happened on saturday afternoon in woodlawn
